- supported learning
- Learning during which students are extensively supported by teaching staff (in contrast to the self-directed leaning typical of a research essay).
In supported learning students and teachers work closely together and collaborate in the learning process.
Often the majority of supported learning activities are conducted during contact hours to facilitate feedback and support from teaching staff.

- wiki
- Wikis are websites that are developed collaboratively by a community of users, allowing any user to add and edit content. The completed entry should appear as a cohesive and integrated response to an overall problem.
As an assessment form, this task sees students make individual contributions to a collective wiki on a topic relating to the course content.
While wikis are created collaboratively course coordinators can track students’ individual contributions through colour-coded text, or dedicated sections for each group member.
