Students are required to initiate coverage on your Company, and make recommendations on the stock. You should consider:
- What is your call on the stock? Do you issue a 'buy', 'sell' or 'hold' recommendation? If the stock is a sell, are you confident enough to short the stock?
- What is your recommended purchasing/shorting amount and what is execution point for an increase and decrease on your position in the stock?
(Note: you may wish to nominate a range of holding amounts at various prices)
The format of the Investment Recommendation, will be similar to an equities research report but will differ in that you will tailor the headings to your needs and highlight what you believe is essential for the Investment Committee to focus on in 8 pages (Maximum). Particular focus should be on presenting key information to prove your case of the above 3 key points, and why your view is different to the market consensus?
To achieve this, you should:
- Complete a full valuation of your Company, using the valuation techniques learned in class.
- Prepare an Investment Recommendation Report for your Company, covering all aspects of the stock.
- Prepare a pitch for your manager, making clear your position (which you will present in class).
Students must upload as a team:
- one excel model,
- one Word Investment Recommendation Report - 8 page maximum – may include additional graphs charts, data references in an appendix; and
- one PowerPoint presentation for the pitch. The verbal pitch is not to exceed 10 minutes in total for the team.
